Creating sustainable safe places to live is what Permaculture landscape design is all about. You can either create it yourself by applying Permie design principles, or take advantage of someone else’s talent and hard work by finding an organic self-sufficient property for sale on our forum.
Early in 2007 we bought this 5 acre property in the Perth hills. See below how we have designed our own Permaculture property plan to support simple living on farms and self sufficiency.
Sustainable living requires self sufficiency in food production and energy. That’s why we have used Permaculture landscape design to create this blueprint for sustainable living. When complete our property will provide much of our needs in food, water, materials and energy.
To get started you’ll need to get your head around Permaculture landscape design concepts such as zones, sectors and aspect.
Then, to do the on ground work of applying your design for simple living on farms, you will also need to develop practical know how in soil management, building, plant propagation and care, alternative energy, animal husbandry and more.
Just search for what you need to know on our site… if it isn’t here yet, it soon will be!
